The CAP platform is made up of fiscal and civic issues that touch every person who lives in Central Texas - transportation, affordability, justice and safety. It's also about priorities: where we need the City to invest in.
Unfortunately, a combination of nationalized hyper-partisanship coupled with special interest spending have made it challenging to educate and advocate on specific issues, especially during the noise and tumult of election seasons. As a result, voters and leaders often lack reliable information to make informed choices. We have also collectively lost sight of civic politics being traditionally a non-partisan process that prioritized outcomes.
CAP's campaigns are going to counter these trends by investigating and advocating year-round to raise the awareness and build consensus around these issues well before there is a vote.
